Volunteer Opportunities
PSPA relies on volunteers to bring our workshops, events, and initiatives to life. It’s a chance to learn new skills, build connections, and support student journalism citywide.

Behind every successful workshop, event, and initiative is a dedicated team of volunteers who make it all possible. Volunteering with PSPA means gaining hands-on experience in event planning, nonprofit operations, and communications while contributing directly to the growth of student journalism in Philadelphia.
As a volunteer, you might help organize logistics for our cross-campus workshops, coordinate speakers for Student Press Day, or support outreach to local media organizations. Every role, big or small, helps ensure that student journalists have access to resources and opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise receive.
This is also a chance to build relationships beyond the classroom. Volunteers work alongside student reporters, media professionals, and community leaders who share a passion for free and accurate reporting. By donating your time and skills, you’ll not only support PSPA’s mission but also gain valuable experience that translates into leadership, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving.
