Rowan

Founded in 1938, The Whit is Rowan University’s student-run newspaper and a long-standing hub of student journalism on campus. Since its inception, it has served as a training ground for aspiring journalists while earning recognition through numerous awards for reporting and design. The paper covers a wide range of topics, from university affairs and student life to arts, sports, and issues affecting the surrounding Glassboro community. Published weekly during the semester, The Whit distributes a print edition across Rowan’s Glassboro campus and maintains The Whit Online, a digital extension that expands its coverage with multimedia content, visual storytelling, and interactive discussion. With a growing archive of past issues and a reputation for integrity and timeliness, The Whit remains committed to its mission of delivering independent, comprehensive, and student-driven journalism to the Rowan community.
